COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. Why is my silver getting dark?
It is normal for silver to turn dark (or to "oxidize"). In fact, if your silver doesn't get dark over time, it is not real silver! When silver comes into contact hydrogen sulfide that is present in the air, a chemical reaction happens, forming a dark layer on the surface of the silver.
2. How do I clean my silver?
There are a number of products on the market for cleaning silver. Please make sure that whatever product you are using is specifically formulated for cleaning silver. Do check the label! One that we personally recommend is Pine-Ola Silver Polish.
3. What is your return/exchange policy?
We totally stand behind our product and want our customers to be happy with their purchases. If you received your product was not as you expected for whatever reason, you can absolutely do an exchange or return as long as you contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and as long as you mail it back within 30 days of delivery. For exchanges, do keep in mind that most of our pieces are one of a kind so we may not have an exact copy but a similar version available to exchange.
4. How durable are the gemstones in our pieces?
The various stones in our pieces vary in their degree of hardness according to the Mohr Scale of Hardness which ranges from 1 (softest) to 10 (hardest). For example, Malachite is relatively soft (3.5-4), Quartz is relatively hard (7), and Obsidian and Opal fall somewhere in between. None of the gemstones that we sell are diamonds, which means that they are absolutely breakable and scratchable (depending on what you scratch them with!). So the stones should be treated with care and stored carefully in their box so that they aren't bumping around with other jewelry that might damage them.
